Merlin’s Magic Wand
1st March 2017
Merlin’s Magic Wand has teamed up with SEA LIFE and LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester to redevelop a playground area at the Together Trust’s Inscape House School into something truly magical.
The Together Trust’s Inscape House School provides support and education for children and young people with autism. The pupils either over or under process the sensory feedback of touch, vision, smell, taste and sound; and the internal sensory feedback from muscles, joints, motion, balance and deep pressure.
A magical space is needed that provides activities and equipment for children with autism spectrum conditions (ASCs) who have sensory integration, sensory processing and motor challenges.
With a specific set of requirements Merlin’s Magic Wand and the team set about creating a new bespoke, fun filled area to captivate the children and young people.
The head teacher, Anne Price states: “The renovated area will provide a fantastic resource which accommodates the sensory needs of our young people.
“I would like to thank everyone at Merlin who has helped to put this project together.
Having a safe, engaging area that the children can use, will enhance their learning and development in such a positive way. Only Merlin can incorporate iconic brands such as LEGO and SEA LIFE into the design of a project like this.
Thank you to everyone who has made this project possible, the children now have a safe, fun, engaging space to play in.
