Merlin’s Magic Wand
2nd October 2019
“A Night of Magic” Friday 20th September 2019
A new and unique Merlin’s Magic Wand charity event was hosted at Chessington World of Adventures Resort in September. All proceeds from the event went directly to the children’s charity to assist with funding their three magic spells, to help make the magic of Merlin Entertainments attractions accessible to more children around the globe.
The evening was a magical opportunity for guests to experience the park after-hours with their family. There were less than 1000 tickets available and guests were able to choose from four different tiered packages with options to include VIP animal encounters. All packages included dinner and soft drinks, a one day Chessington unlimited digital photo pass, character meet and greets, car parking, a limited edition glow in the dark pop badge and some fantastic entertainment throughout the evening. Guests who purchased a ticket for the event were also able to access the park from 10am so they could start the fun earlier in the day.
African drums and dancing greeted guests on arrival and children were encouraged to join in with the drumming action! Guests were in awe of the magic of bubbles duo that produced a wonderful eye-catching performance, creating fun for all ages. As the evening progressed, guests were invited to put on their dancing shoes and join in with the silent disco. Tunes for both adults and children were available, along with inflatable musical instrument props and microphones. During dinner, guests were left amazed by the tricks of the two magicians who also provided the children with tricks they could try on their family and friends when they got home. At the Gruffalo Arena, children enjoyed The Gruffalo Groove Show, character meet and greets, face painting and glow sticks.
The evening culminated with Erin Woods, the charity’s Manager, announcing the exciting news of appointing Zachy as the charity’s first ever child ambassador! There were also some thrilled guests who went home having won one of the super prizes available from the charity raffle which included a Merlin Premium annual family pass, a stay at the Thorpe Park Hotel, a giraffe feed experience and an XBox.
There has been some great feedback from the families who attended the magical evening, just like this one…
"Thank you SO MUCH for such a wonderful evening. We really enjoyed ourselves and my boys thought it was the best night out they’ve ever had! All our families had a wonderful night. The park was quiet which made a difference and having food and drink there was such a treat! The magician - Craig - was out of this world: we could not believe our eyes, he was insane. It was a magical night on so many levels and we are so grateful to you."
Merlin’s Magic Wand would like to thank all those that attended and everyone who volunteered to make it “A Night of Magic” to remember.
