Aimed at two different age ranges, the fully mobile units are themed to match the hospital’s Merlin playroom and teen relaxation room that were created by Merlin’s Magic Wand last year.
Some of the children are unable to access the playroom due to illness for example, and the units will help ensure they don’t miss out as they can be taken to the patient’s bedside. “We are excited to be able to offer this to the children and their families, especially for those who were admitted during the Christmas period.
Sandra Hazel from Merlin’s Magic Wand, said: "We are delighted to be providing further help and continue our support of the University Hospital North Midlands and the Magic Making team have enjoyed working on such a special project. Christmas is such a precious time for young people and their families to spend time together, so our team have been working hard to get the mobile units completed for children to enjoy over the festive period."
