Merlin’s Magic Wand
12th December 2014
On 12th December the children of RNIB Three Spires Academy in Coventry unwrapped their Christmas present from Warwick Castle and Merlin’s Magic Wand - a new Warwick Castle themed sensory room. Inside the room was a very special visitor, Father Christmas, who handed out presents to all the children at the school whilst they enjoyed the sensory room for the first time.
James Walker, Sales and Marketing Director from Warwick Castle, commented: “We are delighted that the children of Three Spires Academy will be able to enjoy this room which allows them to experience first-hand the theme of Castles, knights and princesses whilst incorporating a sensory experience. “
Head teacher of Three Spires Academy, Robert Jones, said: “RNIB Three Spires Academy is delighted to have been supported by Merlin's Magic Wand in the creation of our unique multi-sensory room built around the theme of Warwick Castle. With the carefully selected range of equipment, we can create a multi-sensory environment tailored to the individual needs of our pupils who have a broad range of special educational needs, supporting the achievement of their educational goals. There is much evidence that multi-sensory rooms can improve behaviour, communication skills and interpersonal interaction. “
