It wasn’t a morning that began in a hospital ward or care home. Instead, it started on a red carpet - a space transformed into a dazzling world of imagination, glitter, and laughter. Thanks to the incredible efforts of Lisa Van Vliet, Amsterdam Cluster Operations Manager, and her dedicated team, Madame Tussauds Amsterdam welcomed families from Emma’s Children’s Hospital, Oranjehuis (Crisis Home), and De Biezenwaard (Child Care Home) with a VIP experience that turned an ordinary day into something extraordinary.

From the moment families walked through the doors, the magic was palpable. Personalized goodie bags, keepsake metal bottles etched with their names, and beaming smiles set the tone for a day where joy wasn’t a bonus - it was the purpose.

Each themed zone unfolded like a page from a storybook. The A-List area erupted in a spontaneous dance party - music thumping, arms waving, and hearts lifted. Staff, children, and parents danced with abandon, letting laughter drown out the weight of everyday life.

In the Movies & Sports zone, families stepped into iconic scenes, channeling the charisma of Charlie Chaplin and Marilyn Monroe. Props and costumes encouraged silly poses and endless selfies - moments of pure play.

But it was the DJ Area that left hands full - quite literally. Kids dipped their fingers into warm wax to mold their own colorful wax hands, creating a souvenir they could hold onto long after the music stopped.

The Fashion zone sparkled with creativity. Face painting, styling, and a glitter-filled runway gave kids the chance to shine, strike a pose, and own their moment in the spotlight.

Later, the Music Bar offered a cozy space to relax, sip something sweet, and share snacks and stories. Then, upstairs on the 6th floor, cupcake decorating turned into joyful chaos - frosting flying, sprinkles falling, and little masterpieces taking shape one swirl at a time.

The final chapter unfolded in the Art & Marvel walkthrough - a burst of color and imagination that tied the whole adventure together. Wide eyes, camera flashes, and moments of awe painted the end of a day no one wanted to leave.

As families stepped back out into the world, they carried more than goodie bags. They carried memories, laughter, and the rare magic of a day that celebrated not illness or hardship, but the simple, powerful joy of being a kid.

"Organizing this event is always truly special, and since becoming the Charity Champion in 2019, it has held an even deeper place in my heart. It’s not just an event - it’s an experience that creates moments that matter and reminds us why we do what we do. Seeing parents relax and kids laugh freely, feeling valued and celebrated, is what makes this celebration of compassion, community, and connection unforgettable."
