Sebbie’s Special Day at Alton Towers

This month, we had the absolute joy of welcoming a truly special guest to Alton Towers Resort—22-year-old Sebbie Hall, whose incredible story of kindness has touched hearts across the country.

Sebbie lives with moderate learning difficulties and a rare genetic disorder, but it’s not what he’s faced that defines him—it’s the love and compassion he shares with the world. Since the pandemic, Sebbie has made it his mission to spread joy through daily acts of kindness, raising money and lifting spirits wherever he goes.

One of those acts was a remarkable £1,500 donation from The Sebbie Hall Kindness Foundation to Merlin’s Magic Wand last year. That generous gift helped us deliver nearly 600 magical experiences to children facing illness, disability, or adversity—600 unforgettable moments, made possible by one young man’s big heart.

So, when Sebbie shared his dream of litter picking at Alton Towers—a perfect blend of his love for the environment and his passion for giving back—we couldn’t wait to make it happen.

From the moment he arrived, Sebbie was a ray of sunshine. We surprised him with a Forever Merlin’s Magic Wand pin, an Alton Towers uniform, and a special ‘We Care’ badge—an honour usually reserved for team members who truly embody our core values. Sebbie wore it proudly, and he absolutely earned it.

Throughout the day, Sebbie worked alongside our park team to keep the grounds clean, all while handing out cheerful notes and small tokens of encouragement. One of the most touching moments was when he gave a sunflower to a team member, along with a card that read:
“Always remember you’re braver than you believe, stronger than you think, more beautiful than you imagine, and more loved than you know.”

To say we were moved is an understatement.

As Lee Green from the Alton Towers team put it: “Sebbie, you did an amazing job – thank you for helping us make the park look beautiful for all our guests. You’re an inspiration.”

Sebbie called the experience “a dream come true.” For us, it was a powerful reminder of how kindness—no matter how small—can ripple outward and create something truly magical.
