As the Bradley Lowery Foundation celebrates the launch of Super Brad's Pad, a new holiday home designed to give families of children with serious illnesses, disabilities and life-limiting conditions the chance to spend precious time together, Merlin's Magic Wand and SEA LIFE Scarborough are proud to have played a part in helping bring the vision to life.

Bradley Lowery was just 18 months old when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. Throughout his journey, Bradley's infectious smile, determination and love of life touched millions of people around the world. Following his passing in 2017, the Bradley Lowery Foundation was established to continue his legacy by creating opportunities for seriously ill children and their families to make precious memories together.

Super Brad’s Pad is now home to two new Magic Spaces, created with thanks to Merlin's Magic Wand Children's Charity. The spaces are especially meaningful as Bradley and his family enjoyed a Magical Day Out at SEA LIFE Scarborough with Merlin's Magic Wand, and he loved the attraction so much that he became a regular visitor. Inspired by those treasured memories, Merlin's Magic Wand has worked with the Foundation and SEA LIFE Scarborough to create two dedicated spaces designed to help families make magical memories of their own.

Reflecting the charity's mission to unlock the magic of Merlin through the power of play for children facing adversity, the new rooms have been created for children and teenagers staying at the holiday home. The younger children's room features an immersive SEA LIFE-themed design, while the teen space includes vibrant décor, gaming consoles and interactive lighting, providing a fun, safe and welcoming environment where families can relax, connect and spend quality time together.

Erin Scoular, Charity Manager, Merlin’s Magic Wand shared.

"When Bradley and his family visited SEA LIFE Scarborough on their Magical Day Out, it helped create precious memories together at an incredibly important time. To now be part of creating Magic Spaces within Super Brad's Pad feels like a fitting way to continue to help more families create moments of joy, play and lifelong memories. We're hugely grateful to our colleagues at SEA LIFE Scarborough for their support throughout the project, particularly for their dedication during the project development, and to the wider team for helping bring the spaces to life through volunteering their time, expertise and hands-on support."

Andrew Turner, Regional Director (Rest of UK Cluster), Merlin Entertainments shared.

“When we first heard about the plans for Super Brad’s Pad, we knew we had to be involved. Bradley loved visiting Scarborough and SEA LIFE, so there was a really special connection from the very beginning. Being able to support the project from those early ideas and help bring some SEA LIFE magic into the space has meant a great deal to us. To see those plans now becoming a reality, and knowing the difference it will make to families, is incredibly special.”

Super Brad's Pad is expected to welcome up to 100 families each year, ensuring the impact of these new Magic Spaces will continue for many years to come, helping families create moments of connection, comfort and happiness together.
