Merlin’s Magic Wand Celebrates the Power of Play with Alexander Devine

At Merlin’s Magic Wand, we highlight the importance of play all year round for children facing illness, disability, and adversity, but June is the official month to celebrate! This month, we revisited one of our Merlin’s Magic Spaces at Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice, where this LEGOLAND Windsor themed sensory garden creates joyful, inclusive environments where every child can experience the wonder of play. 

Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice provides specialist care and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, along with their families, across Berkshire, South Buckinghamshire and surrounding counties. Since the Magic Space launched in 2019, the hospice has been able to offer a unique outdoor escape designed to stimulate the senses and spark imagination. 

The thoughtfully designed sensory garden features wheelchair-friendly winding pathways, a calming water feature, and a storytelling area. Adding a touch of awesomeness, LEGO® models crafted by expert model makers are nestled among vibrant plants and flowers, blending play with nature in a magical setting.
