In partnership with Make-A-Wish UK, we had the honour of granting Eva’s wish to start her very own YouTube channel, Eva-Diva.
Eva has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and uses a battery-operated wheelchair. She also has a global developmental delay and is unable to speak, using very limited BSL to communicate. Her wish was to create her own YouTube channel, and SEA LIFE Brighton provided the perfect setting to film her very first video.
Eva’s day began with a guided tour led by Guest Experience Team Leader, Savannah, who spent time engaging closely with Eva throughout the visit. Guest Experience Host, Louisha, captured the experience on camera, filming each moment while Savannah supported Eva with communication prompts, helping her engage with the exhibits in her own way.
Eva’s joy and excitement shine through in the final video, which Savannah thoughtfully produced. It is a meaningful keepsake and a lasting memory for Eva and her family. A genuine connection quickly formed between Eva and Savannah, reflected in shared laughter and a quiet, touching moment when Eva reached out to hold Savannah’s hand.
To make the day even more special, Eva and her family were treated to refreshments and food, and Eva received a plush toy to take home as a reminder of her visit.
Following the tour, Savannah spent time showing Eva’s parents how to edit the footage, with Eva watching along. She also supported them in setting up Eva’s brand-new YouTube channel, Eva-Diva, where Eva’s first video has now been shared.
“Savannah and Lou were both incredibly kind and selfless with their time. We didn’t leave until 17.30. They made such a fuss of Eva the whole day, which Eva loved. Now Eva has her own YouTube channel and has put up her very first video. She is so very happy.”
Eva’s visit to SEA LIFE Brighton marked the beginning of her YouTube journey, capturing a day built entirely around Eva, her wish, and the moments that mattered most to her.
