Merlin’s Magic Wand and Gardaland Celebrate 50 Years of Magical Memories by Transforming a Hospital Playroom

Imagine walking into a hospital and being greeted by laughter, colour, and the familiar charm of a theme park. That’s exactly what happened today for young patients at Ospedale Sacro Cuore Don Calabria in Verona. In partnership with Gardaland, we unveiled a brand-new Gardaland-themed Magic Space, turning a hospital playroom into a world of wonder.
This transformation celebrates 50 years of Gardaland creating magical memories for families across Italy. Instead of simply reflecting the park, this playroom invites children to step inside its story. The space bursts with colour, interactive TVs, a variety of toys and games, and even the park’s beloved mascot Prezzemolo, ready to welcome children into their very own slice of Gardaland magic.
"For 50 years, Gardaland has inspired joy for families, and this playroom allows that magic to reach children who can’t visit the park in person. It’s a space filled with characters, laughter and imagination, where play can lift spirits and create moments of happiness when they’re needed most.”
This initiative is a true community effort. A dedicated team of volunteers from Gardaland, alongside local suppliers, brought the vision to life. Every corner of the playroom reflects the spirit of the park, from colourful wall designs to interactive storytelling corners.
This Magic Space alone is expected to create over 2,200 magical experiences each year, providing a space where young patients can play, explore, and connect with others. In a hospital setting, that opportunity to escape into imagination can make a world of difference.
