  • Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Enhanced Magical Day Out

2 (13)

When seven-year-old Eva and her family visited Chessington World of Adventures Resort this September, it was a chance to put everyday challenges to one side and enjoy a day together, focused on making life-long memories.

Eva receives support at school for autism, global developmental delay and being non-verbal. Her SEN school, first reached out to Merlin's Magic Wand on the family's behalf.

During the application process, Eva's mum, Rebecca, was sadly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Recognising how important a special day out would be the school shared that "a special day out is now even more important for this family."

Alongside her mum Rebecca and younger siblings, Eva spent the day exploring the resort and enjoying everything Chessington had to offer.

The family were welcomed with priority parking, Fastrack wristbands and goody bags, helping to make the day even more special.

Looking back on the day, Rebecca said:

"The fact there was something for everyone to enjoy made the whole day joyful. Especially the sensory room which both children loved but especially Eva, which helped if it got a bit much with being busy or loud, she was able to regulate."

For Eva and her family, it was a day filled with fun, laughter and time together, the kind of moments that stay with you long after you've left the park.

At Merlin's Magic Wand, we are incredibly proud to help create opportunities for children facing adversity and their families to enjoy moments of joy, play and life-long memories, one magical day at a time.
