Merlin's Magic Wand supports seriously ill, disabled and disadvantaged children by supplying tickets and travel grants to enable them to visit our attractions – however, some children are faced with conditions and circumstances that prevent them from making the trip. This is why we invest in Merlin’s Magic Spaces.
Merlin's Magic Spaces is a local outreach project designed to ensure that local children who are prevented from visiting our attractions due to severe illness, physical disability or other exceptional circumstances still have the opportunity to experience the unique magic of Merlin.
We have completed many fantastic projects so far, such as a SEA LIFE themed playroom in Hamburg, Germany, a LEGOLAND themed cottage in Davenport, Florida and a Warwick Castle themed sensory room in Coventry, UK.
Here are four of the projects that we've completed so far, and there are lots more in the pipeline
Very Special Kids is the only children’s hospice in Victoria and they support over 800 families. Merlin’s Magic Wand and SEA LIFE Melbourne transformed the bathroom into a fun, playful and stimulating room featuring a submarine, a friendly stingray, brightly coloured fish, TV and moving lights.
Kolding Sygenhus Hospital supports children with life-limited conditions. Merlin’s Magic Wand and LEGOLAND® Billund Resort created a LEGOLAND® themed play area to brighten up a disused space.
Evelina looks after children with many different types of illnesses. Merlin’s Magic Wand, together with The London Eye, London Dungeons, SEA LIFE London and Madame Tussauds, transformed their existing sensory room into a magical themed area that all of the children can enjoy.
Sunshine Village enables families with seriously ill children to enjoy a once in a lifetime holiday surrounded by the support that they require. Merlin’s Magic Wand and LEGOLAND® Florida Resort have transformed one of the existing holiday cottages into a LEGOLAND® themed wonderland.
