George, the youngest person to undergo cancer treatment using Nanoknife technology, is now officially cancer-free! His incredible courage throughout his journey has earned him the Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People Star Award, recognizing his bravery and resilience.
After George’s diagnosis at just two years old in August 2023, his father, Jonathan, took action to support other families facing similar challenges. He founded The MVA Society to provide much-needed resources and community for those affected by MVA, a chromosomal disorder linked to growth delays, developmental challenges, and an increased cancer risk. With limited information and support available, Jonathan’s mission is to unite families and ensure no one faces this diagnosis alone.
Now, the Magical Days Out (MDO) program team is working directly with Jonathan to form a partnership, giving children supported by The MVA Society the opportunity to experience a Magical Day Out, just like George and his family did.
Following their unforgettable visit to SEA LIFE London Aquarium, Jonathan shared just how much the experience meant to them:
“The London Aquarium was excellent! We got there early and had the place to ourselves—it was warm, welcoming, and a fantastic escape from the cold outside. The atmosphere, the music, and being up close to the fish were incredible. George absolutely loved it! He was fascinated by the big tank with the rays and sharks, mesmerized by the jellyfish, and completely in awe of the penguins. He loves penguins! All in all, it was a fantastic day.”
This partnership is just the beginning of bringing more joy, connection, and unforgettable experiences to children like George.
