Celebrating Family, Joy, and Togetherness This International Day of Families

At Merlin’s Magic Wand, families are at the heart of everything we do. Our mission to create magical experiences for children who need them most extends to bringing joy to the whole family, including parents, siblings, and loved ones who support them through life’s most challenging moments.

This International Day of Families, we are proud to celebrate the power of connection and shared memories through stories like ten-year-old Devon’s. After being diagnosed with cancer, Devon underwent three operations whilst her twin sister, Mila, and their dad, Andrew, were by her side.

Following Devon’s final operation, Andrew shared with us:

“She has shown such incredible bravery throughout her treatment, and now that we are hopefully through the worst, I would love to bring her along with her twin sister, who has also been through so much during this time for a special day out at Chessington.”

Devon, Mila, and Andrew were welcomed to Chessington World of Adventures for a very special visit designed to bring ease, excitement, and unforgettable moments. Every detail was designed by the Chessington team to remove stress and create space for what matters most.

For Devon, who has a deep love of animals, the giraffe feeding experience became the highlight of the day.

“Our day at Chessington World of Adventures was truly unforgettable. After such a difficult year, it was fantastic to see Devon so happy! Seeing her and her twin sister laughing, exploring, and just being carefree children again was incredibly special. The kindness and thought that went into arranging everything made us feel genuinely supported and cared for.”
