Jayden's Enhanced Magical Day Out at Chessington World of Adventures

Merlin’s Magic Wand partnered with Chessington World of Adventures Resort and Richard House Hospice to give 14-year-old Jayden and his family a festive experience to remember, a £500 Enhanced Magical Day Out filled with surprises, laughter, and plenty of Christmas magic.

The family, including Jayden’s mum Kareema, his younger brother Jaxson (8), and Kareema’s partner Harry, enjoyed an overnight stay in Chessington’s brand-new Christmas-themed room, which is now available to book year-round.

Their special getaway included VIP ride passes, two-day park access, delicious food and drinks, goodie bags packed with Chessington merchandise, and even a surprise visit from Santa’s elves. A highlight of the trip was meeting and feeding the resident reindeers.

For Jayden, who has a rare condition affecting amino acid transport and renal function, along with complex care needs, the experience offered a much-needed break from hospital appointments and the challenges of daily life.

Accessibility made a huge difference for the family, too. “We usually struggle going out due to accessibility and ramps, but it has been really accessible,” Kareema shared. “When you have a child in a wheelchair who needs a lot more support, you sometimes find it difficult to find help and it stops you from wanting to go. This has been easy compared to other days out we’ve had.”

Despite being non-verbal and sight-impaired, Jayden still navigated the park with support, delighting in the lights and sounds. The family’s favourite memory was watching the seals being fed and swimming, bringing them a moment of joy, calm, and connection. 

Enhanced Magical Days Out like Jayden’s cost upwards of £500, but the joy and memories they create are truly priceless.
