Ronald McDonald House Families Enjoy a Magical Brick or Treat Adventure at LEGOLAND® California Resort

More than 200 guests from Ronald McDonald House® Southern California enjoyed a special day at LEGOLAND® California Resort during the opening weekend of Brick or Treat, thanks to Merlin's Magic Wand.
Taking place during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the day brought together children impacted by cancer, along with their siblings and parents, for a chance to step away from doctor appointments, treatments, and hospital visits and simply enjoy time together as a family.
Through Merlin's Magic Wand and Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, families spent the day experiencing everything Brick or Treat had to offer, from trick-or-treating and live shows to rides, attractions, and plenty of LEGO® fun.
For one child attending, the visit was the realization of a dream years in the making.
"I watched all the LEGOLAND rides on my iPad when I was in the hospital. I watched all the videos. I've been dreaming of the Galactic ride."
After finally experiencing it for himself, he shared: "It was even better than the YouTube videos!"
For siblings Daniel and Esme, the day was especially meaningful. Their family became part of the Camp Ronald McDonald community after Daniel was diagnosed with cancer as a toddler. Now 11 and 9 years old, the pair spent the day doing what kids do best: running from ride to ride, meeting their favorite characters, and filling their bags with Halloween candy!
Their story reflects the experience of so many families supported by Ronald McDonald House Southern California. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the impact reaches the entire family. Days like this give families the chance to spend quality time together, connect with others who understand their journey, and make happy memories away from the challenges of treatment.
As LEGOLAND® California Resort came alive with pumpkins, costumes, and Halloween fun, families were able to leave hospital schedules behind for the day and focus on what mattered most: making memories together.
